Centenary Celebrations: Abacha, Obasanjo, Ojukwu Make List of 100 Nigerians To Receive Awards [See List]
The Nigerian government on Sunday released a list of 100 persons that have been named as winners of Nigeria’s Centenary Honours Award.
On the list is late military ruler Sani Abacha, TY  Danjuma listed in the category tagged: Outstanding promoters of unity, patriotism and national development.  How???
It also contained the names of former leaders of the country at the federal level and some art promoters, as well as names of those who fought for the independence of Nigeria.
The list, said to have been approved by President Goodluck Jonathan, is reproduced below in full along with the categories:

“The Centenary Award Ceremony holds on Friday, 28th February, 2014 at 7.00 p.m. at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja, by 6.30 p.m. and attendance is strictly by invitation. 
While I don't want to go into mentioning in detail some of our many pressing issues paramount at the moment like the Bornu massacre, I do not understand why some names particularly late Sani Abacha qualified for the centenary awards.
But then again, here in Nigeria things most times don't follow the normal order, and anything can happen.
Happy Centenary celebrations people-that is, If there is anything to be happy about.
