A Harare woman was allegedly raped and killed before her body was thrown
into Mukuvisi River near Glen View in Harare. A passerby discovered the
body of Eneri Tsoto (30) on Wednesday around 8am. Tsoto lived in Glen View. It is believed she left home at 4am going to
Beatrice Infectious Diseases Hospitals. Harare provincial police
spokesperson Inspector Tadious Chibanda confirmed the incident.
"CID Homicide attended the scene and took the body to Harare Hospital for post-mortem," Insp Chibanda said.
He said police had started investigating the case.
"We are suspicious that this adult woman could have been raped before
her body was dumped in the Mukuvisi River. Her hands were tied with a
belt and she had no underwear," Insp Chibanda said.Several people have been killed and dumped in Mukuvisi River. In May this year, a man dragged a 29-year-old woman to Mukuvisi River's bank and sexually molested her throughout the night.
