See Most Realistic Flying Car Yet Called 'Aeromobil' Designed By Slovakian Engineer (Photos & Video)

"Mark my words, a combination airplane and motor car is coming;  you may smile, but it will come"-Henry Ford 1940.
Those were the words of  American industrialist, and  founder of the Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford exactly seven years before his  death. Although then, the idea must have sounded over fetched, but 74 years later, his vision is as close to reality as it gets.
Despite the best work of thousands of inventors around the globe, flying cars have until now never caught on for a multitude of engineering, safety and practical reasons. So it's worth noting when a Slovakian designer reveals a new take on the idea that avoids one of the great pitfalls facing any such project, and it really looks good, and realistic too.

Called 'Aeromobil', the car was created by Slovakian engineer Stefan Klein, who's background includes work for Audi and BMW. Based on the outlines of a single-engine plane, the Aeromobil version 2.5 draws power from a 100-hp Rotax airplane engine, and can travel 430 miles on a load of fuel in the air or 310 miles on the ground. When not in use, the carbon-fiber wings fold solidly behind the two-person cockpit, disengaging the rear propeller.
Klein says he's refined his idea for nearly two decades, and expects version 3.0 of the Aeromobil to likely  be a production-ready version. Yet as the video below shows, driving the Aeromobil looks far more normal than flying one, and many of the flying car projects that have come before failed at road transportation and airworthiness alike.
According to the Aeromobile website:
It is fully accustomed to road traffic and as a plane it could both take off and land at any airport in the world.
With its ambition to become a real “flying car”, the current version – Aeromobil 2.5 is a prototype of the third generation. Aeromobil 3 is stylish, comfortable for both the driver and passenger, and exceptionally combines the performance of a sports car with qualities of an "ultralight".
In about 5 years, it is expected that the company will roll out the production ready version, for general use, and Hery Ford's dream a reality.
Amazing piece of technology!
