Again a blessing!! Blessing Okagbare wins Gold in Women's 200m

A few days after she won Gold in the Women's 100meters Finals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, she's won Gold again in the Women's 200m in a time of 22.25 seconds, completing the Glasgow2014 sprint double. You go, Blessing!

Presidency Shared N22.4m to Chibok Parents, Escaped Girls - Community

The Kibaku Area Development Association (Chibok community), has explained that the Presidency shared N22.4m to the Chibok parents and the escaped girls that held a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan on July 22,2014, contrary to reports that N100m was doled out to the recipients.

The association in a press statement signed by its Spokesman, Dauda Ilya, in Abuja on Wednesday, said that: 63 individuals comprising:

51 escaped girls were given N100,000 each,
51 parents equally received N100,000 each
and another 61 parents got N200,000 each.

A German student was walking in the street and noticed a homeless man begging for money from pedestrians, without much luck..so the student asked him to borrow his bucket.

10-year-old Female Suicide Bomber Arrested in Katsina

The arrest of a 10-year-old girl, suspected to be a suicide bomber in Katsina State has been announced by the Chairman, National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri. And according to Omeri, the little girl was among three suspected Boko Haram members that were arrested on Tuesday night. She had a belt strapped with explosives at the time of her arrest.

Sprinter Blessing Okagbare just won Gold

in the Women's 100m for Nigeria in the Commonwealth Games. She won in a time of 10.85 seconds in a new Games record, making her the second fastest woman of all time in World 100 metres. She beat Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown, Kerron Stewart and England’s Asha Phillip who came second, third and fourth respectively.

Prior to 1989, Calistus Ike had dreamt of becoming a very successful business man.

Little did he know that he was going to spend seven years as an awaiting trial inmate and another 16 years on the death row.

As the first son and bread winner of his family at that time, Ike, had all his dreams quashed after he was sentenced to death following his refusal to pay N200 bribe to the policeman that investigated an allegation against him.

Nigerian Shiite muslims Sahara Reporters Media SaharaReporters has just confirmed that Mahumd Ibraheem Zakzaky, the son of Sheik Ibraheem Zakzaky, was among those gunned down by Nigerian soldiers in Zaria as a group held a rally in support of Palestinians on Israel’s invasion of Gaza.

Mahmud Zakzaky and a few other demonstrators were killed in the shooting this evening in the ancient town of Zaria.
In a statement issued by Ibrahim Musa, editor of the movement’s weekly magazine Almizan, and sent to the New York office of SaharaReporters, the Islamic group accused the military of killing several of its members with impunity. The statement also claimed that more than 40 other members sustained serious injuries.
“Reports reaching our news desk now indicated that some soldiers of the Nigerian army have opened fire on the tail end of the Quds procession held after Jumaat prayers in Zaria, Kaduna State. The procession, which took off from Sabon Gari Jumaat Mosque, reached Kofar Doka peacefully with no incident. However some soldiers attacked the procession [at the] PZ junction in Zaria.

Sabina Altynbekova was just another 18-year-old girl before she turned up in the Taiwanese capital Taipei to compete for Kazakhstan in the Asian Championships. Now local media that would normally only write a couple of lines about the competition are devoting 10 page picture features about her and artists are turning out anime fantasies about her. But her sudden move to centre stage has left members of her own team slightly miffed, and now media in her homeland have slammed the obsession with her. Wow! Is it now a crime to be fine? Lol. Goldie Harvey was a sensational artiste and a budding musician with a lot of prospects. Armed with a Degree in Business Management from the University of Sunderland, Mrs Harvey took the Nigerian music industry by storm. Shortly after returning home to Nigeria after the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California, she complained of a headache and had to be rushed to hospital where she gave up the ghost. She lost her life after spending 31 years on earth. The ever jovial Goldie who was good friends with popular comic, Denrele featured on the 2012 edition of Big Brother Africa where she was heavily criticized for not portraying the Nigerian nation in a respectable light. 9 Nigerian students in Ukraine were earlier this week, kidnapped in the Ukrainian city of Lugansk.

Meet a six-year-old Indian wonder boy from who is a super-specialist in limbo-skating which may land him a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Gagan Satish goes to a primary school, began skating at the age of three, harnessing his extreme flexibility to master and specialise in limbo-skating. Now a super kid is ready to try his hand at setting world record by limbo skating under 39 cars in under 30 seconds.

Doctors in India have extracted 232 teeth from the mouth of a 17-year-old boy in a seven-hour operation.

Ashik Gavai was brought in with a swelling in his right jaw, Dr Sunanda Dhiware, head of Mumbai's JJ Hospital's dental department, told the BBC. The teenager had been suffering for 18 months and travelled to the city from his village after local doctors failed to identify the cause of the problem.
Doctors eventually described his condition as "very rare" and "a world record"and diagnosed it as a complex composite odontoma where a single gum forms lots of teeth.

According to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Daniel Adeyileka (pictured above) is the youngest pilot in Nigeria.

He was born in 1995 in Newcastle, England and had his primary and secondary education in Scotland then came back to Nigeria to do his A-levels. At 17, he proceeded to Delta Flight school in Texas, USA, where he obtained his Private Pilot License (PPL) and his International General Certificate of Secondary Education. He is currently a First Officer.
