Is Pope Francis The Final Pope?

On March 13, 2013, Argentinain Jorge Bergoglio was elected as the successor of Benedict XVI. Assuming the title of “Francis I”; many have begun to speculate as to whether this man may be the final Pope whom Satan will incarnate after the Bride of Christ has been raptured. It is worth noting the predominance of the number 13 in the election of the new pontiff (the 13 day of March in the year of 2013), just as the golden image of Daniel 3: 1 was measured at 60 cubits in height and six cubits in breadth (666 is the number of the Beast).

I believe, one of these glorious days, when this united confederation of church goes together, and the new pope is brought out of the United States and put over there according to prophecy, then they’ll form an image like unto the beast.

William Branham is referring to Revelation 13 when he made this statement, and yet, many wonder if he truly meant the statement or if he speculated about it, especially in the light of the current Pope being from Latin America, which has no correlation to the United States. Perhaps another small feature worth noting before we progress is to remind the reader that the sixth vision of William Branham’s seven-prophetic-visions of 1933 was concerning the rise of a beautiful and powerful woman from the United States of America. This woman could be the symbolic rise of Catholicism in the American White House, especially when first Catholic President John Kennedy took office; or, it could be a literal reference to the rise of America’s first woman President.

But there she stands. There she is. That’s her; preach the Word, handle the Word, become a goddess, and the cause of every sin. Bible said, “I suffer not a woman to teach, or usurp any authority, but be in obedience as also saith the-the law”. See? And she can’t do it. But they make her a ruler of the land, mayor, governor; soon she’ll be President.

We can choose to be extremist in our approach to such quotations, or we can step back and take a balanced approach when reconciling the quotations of the prophet with the scriptures. William Branham was a major prophet; he was a seer; his message was “Thus saith the LORD”; thus we need to be careful before making liberal comments about these particular topics. In the light of current events, it is most likely that Pope Francis I is the final Pope whom Satan will incarnate because although Revelation 13 speaks of the American Beast who speaks the same language as the Roman Beast; these two factors can be reconciled when one understands that the current Pope is the master of the Roman Beast, and he will use the American Beast to exercise and enforce his edicts to bind the world into a New World Order.
A Jesuit and a conservative with more sane views than his predecessors, many think that this man could not possibly be the one whom Satan will step into. Judas Iscariot (Jesus’ disciple) was the least likely of the 12 disciples to have been suspected as being the one who would betray Jesus, and yet, when Satan entered into him (Luke 22: 3), he became the son of perdition and cleverly schemed the betrayal of Jesus. Thus it may be with Pope Francis I; although not considered as being the likely candidate for Satanic possession, he may in fact be the perfect vessel, because his transformation from conservatism to brash cunning and subtlety will surprise the multitudes of devout followers.
Saint Malachy was a 12th century Irish saint and Archbishop of Armargh; he was given a vision of the successive Popes and wrote a brief description of each. The vision has proven itself to be quite accurate; the previous administration of Benedict XVI was described as “Gloria Olivae”, meaning in Latin, “the glory of the Olive”; this is most striking in that the Benedict Order is of the Olivetan Branch. If the vision of Malachy is given as an aside warning to humanity, then the current pontiff Francis I will fulfil the final passage of the vision: “In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End”.
Jorge Bergoglio (the “Franciscan”) was born in Buenos Aires (the capital of Argentina); he is the son of an Italian railway worker. A “Franciscan” is of the order of Saint Francis of Assisi who founded the Franciscan religious order in the town of Assisi in A.D. 1208. Jorge Bergoglio is now the successor of Peter (he was considered the first Pope of Rome… of course, such claims are untrue) and now resides in Rome. Jorge Bergogolio is most likely “Peter the Roman” because his parents are Italian (Roman), and he now sits on “Peter’s” throne. In naming himself after Assisi, Bergoglio or Pope Francis I branded himself after an Italian (Roman) priest whose original name was “Francesco di Pietro (Peter) di Bernardone”, literally, “Peter the Roman”.

If this man is the final Pope, then we are most certainly at the end of time. However, we must remember the words of William Branham concerning a Pope from the United States of America. Francis I may merely be the man to prepare the platform for an American Pope to stand upon. We cannot be fully sure, but we can be sure that the LORD will reveal all these things in due season.
“Petrus Romanus” (Latin for “Peter the Roman”) might now be upon the throne, and soon the seven-hilled city of Rome will be destroyed by a Russian nuclear missile, and the LORD Himself as the supreme Judge will exercise the fullness of His wrath upon the earth with the outpouring of the seven vials at Armageddon to purge the earth for the Millennium.
