Letter To GEJ:AMNESTY TO BOKO HARAM; DON'T USE OUR OIL MONEY TO FUND THE PROCESS, PLEASE!

Prerogative of Mercy they call it, some say its “Pardon”, others say it is “State Pardon”. But in all, I call it discretional pardon exclusively preserved for the Politicos as enshrined in some sections of the 1999 Nigerian Politicians Constitution. In Nigeria, “OLUWA, ALLAH, CHINEKE, AYIBA, ABASI, AWAJI, TAMUNO etc” is GOD but, in other climes, the “Law” propounded by men is their god/GOD as the case maybe. In Nigeria, impoverished Villagers like me are obligated to be under law. If you’ll agree with me, the writers of the 1998/1999 Constitution did not consider the likes of President Jonathan before putting up some “sick” sections like; “IMMUNITY CLAUSE” et al he's benefiting from today. It’ll be down-right unprincipled to prune down the Presidential tree because you’re not on seat or, because your so called brother or tribal man is not on seat. First, who were the writers of this Constitution? Is it Goodluck’s fault? Well, I don’t think so. If you ask me, I have nothing against granting “AMNESTY” to criminals, rapists, wizards, terrorists and what have you. After all, it is a “prerogative of mercy” exclusively preserved for the powers that be, carry go MR. President, na BABA GOD do am for you.

Be that as it may, may I ask; on what grounds should BOKO HARAM be pardoned? Who’ll pay (financially) for their AMNESTY, considering the dynamics of AMNESTY? With whose resources would they be carted for after killing uncountable Nigerians and Niger Deltans? Remember, the Niger Delta unrest was an expression against misrule, poverty, underdevelopment, neglect, despoliation, deceit, under-representation, exclusion, etc. The people of the Niger Delta wanted to be stakeholders in their GOD given resources (OIL); they fought to be part of the decision makers in the OIL sector amongst other things. Their issues were well articulated and adhered to. During the crisis, Women and Children were not raped. Corpers were not killed; Christians or Muslims were not their targets. The Niger Delta Ex-agitators did not bomb cars, Churches, Markets, Public places, they only blew up the OIL facilities Offshore. Rather, the Obasanjo’s Government intimidated, maimed, raped and killed our people using the ‘military’; did Jonathan do this with the BOKO BOYS? He has human feelings unlike, some past Presidents who finished my people (ODI) with their guns and bullets. We’re watching.

During the Niger Delta unrest, our Royal Fathers, Politicians, Mothers, Fathers and relatives all knew what it was. We knew the boys, we knew their Camps, they were only faceless to the media but, we know them and our Politicians knew their Camps too. There was a “link” to always reach them even in their creeks. But, can any of the “AMNESTY” crooners for the BOKO BOYS own up like the Niger Delta Politicians, Traditional Rulers and Elders did? Why can’t the likes of BUHARI, ABDUSALAMI, RIBADU, EL-RUFAI, LAMIDO, SHETTIMA, IBB, ALIYU, TAMBUWAL, SAMBO, ABDULAHI, MELAYE etc take up the responsibility to talk to them? Can’t Nigerians see that BOKO HARAM is an Al-Qaeda wing full of “non-Nigerians”? What’s the yardstick that “AMNESTY” would work for them? Are they actually Nigerians (I mean, the BOKO BOYS)? If yes, why can’t the Northern leaders control them or, even take up the responsibility of negotiating with them? Why recommend “AMNESTY” for them in a hurry when you can’t speak on their behalf? For the records, no one should compare the BOKO BOYS with the Niger Delta Ex-agitators. They're two walls apart, don't compare them.

In my opinion, I’ll accept “AMNESTY” for them if they can tell Nigerians why they’ve killed innocent lives in Churches, Mosques, Markets, and other Public places? They should tell us why they’ve “NOT” attacked any “Western” institution as their name implies; “NO TO WESTERN EDUCATION”? The BOKO BOYS and their sponsors should tell us what they’re fighting for or against? They should tell us what they've fought for so far? They should articulate their mission, vision, goal, and aim. And finally, the President should tell the Niger Deltans if these OML’s (OML 110, 130, OPL 264, 245, 233, 289, 286, 291, OML 115, 117, 112, 108, 113, 215 67, 30, 246, 241 and many more) are being revoked from the Mai Deribe’s, Indimi’s, Abacha’s, Abdulsalami’s, Atikus, Obasanjo’s, Dantata’s, Folawiyo’s, Saleh’s, Ado Bayero’s, Rilwan Lukman’s etc? Please sir, do not use proceeds from the OIL for this “BOKO HARAM AMNESTY” should you grant it.

RECOMMENDATION(s)...

It took almost three years to strike the “AMNESTY” plan with the Niger Delta Ex-agitators; we’re hoping that it’ll take some time too, for the BOKO BOYS. At least, you’ll discuss with the faceless people before any pronouncement. Even you (as the then Vice President) visited the BOYS in the creeks, where's SAMBO in the face of this heat? What has he done (as someone from that region)?

It is our suggestion that, you should use the “Groundnut” proceed to fund this process. And, be prepared for the IGBOS and Yorubas too. Prepare the “Coal and Cocoa” funds for their “AMNESTY”, soon.

Before you sign any document or make any pronouncement, they “MUST” show their face(s) as the Niger Delta Ex-agitators did.

Also, we’re not unaware that the success of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP) under Hon. Kinsley K. Kuku is the driving force for this “BOKO HARAM AMNESTY” from the Northern leaders, no qualms. But, we’re saying as the Niger Delta “AMNESTY” Program terminates in 2015, we’re hoping that “SHELL, CHEVRON, AGIP, ExxonMobile, ELF, TOTAL and rest of the Niger Delta Spoilers would also pack up and allow us “drink” our OIL from thence, if we want? GOD willing, by 2015 when the Niger Delta AMNESTY Program ends, we’ll be controlling our Resources.

Finally, I am wishing you GOD’s protection as you lead this complex Country. Please sir, do not use proceeds from OIL (from the Niger Delta) to fund the “BOKO HARAM AMNESTY” rather, let the Northern States contribute for their upkeep.

Yours Sincerely,
The Wondering Wanderer...
