A teenager has been arrested after police said he drew up a $1,200 contract for a classmate to murder his father, stepmother and brother.
The 14-year-old, arrested in Port St. Lucie in Florida, tried to ‘hire’ a friend to carry out the killings and make the crime look like a burglary gone wrong, police said.
The boy’s father found the handwritten note along with a folding knife in his bag, according to a charging document.
The note said:
‘I (name redacted) - will be hitman for hire for (defendant's name redacted) to murder (names redacted) and (name redacted).Port St. Lucie police say the note was an agreement between the teen and a friend that the friend would kill members of the boy's family for $1,200.
‘I am aware that if I do not go through with it I will not GET PAID. Money in question we agreed upon was 1200 dollars. I will leave in an hour or two within the murder.’
Under questioning, police say the 14-year-old was plotting for the family members to be killed in a burglary-gone-wrong scenario.
The friend told police he thought it was a joke and it has been reported that he will not face charges
