Shocking: Pregnant Baby Born In Saudi Arabia

That is horrific. Poor child. May God help us.

An outstanding incident took place in the medical practice of Saudi doctors. A year-old girl turned out to be pregnant. Doctors said that it was the first incident in the history of modern medicine. Arab media outlets discuss whether the removal of the fetus from the baby girl is going to be considered a murder.

It turned out that the mother of the pregnant baby originally had two embryos during her pregnancy. One of the embryos began to develop in the uterus of the other child. In spite of the fact that doctors describe the incident as unique, there can be other similar examples found in history.
A 36-year-old farmer had the embryo of his twin brother removed in the town of Nagpur, India, in 2006. The man asked for medical help only after his swollen belly hampered his breathing. Doctors were certain that the man had a gigantic tumor in his belly. However, they found fragments of human genitalia, hairs, limbs and jaws in the patient and finally removed a weird underdeveloped creature having legs and arms with long nails.

In 2002, Indian doctors found a fetus in the body of a six-month-old boy. The dead fetus, which surgeons removed from the boy, weighed one kilo, whereas the boy himself weighed 6.5 kilos.

The anomalous phenomenon is known as fetus in fetu. Such incidents are extremely rare: an embryo inside an embryo may appear once in 500,000 pregnancies. The phenomenon always occurs at an early stage of pregnancy. As a rule, the fetuses die in mother’s womb. It may also happen that a child with a fetus inside survives the entire pregnancy. In this case the embryo continues to live inside its owner’s body like a trapped parasite.

A fetus in fetu can be considered alive, but only in the sense that its component tissues have not yet died or been eliminated. Thus, the life of a fetus in fetu is inherently limited to that of an invasive tumor. In principle, its cells must have some degree of normal metabolic activity to have remained viable. However, without the gestational conditions attainable (so far) only in utero with the amnion and placenta, a fetus in fetu can develop into, at best, an especially well-differentiated teratoma; or, at worst, a high-grade metastatic teratocarcinoma. In terms of physical maturation, its organs have a working blood supply from the host, but all cases of fetus in fetu present critical defects, such as no functional brain, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, or urinary tract. Accordingly, while a fetus in fetu can share select morphological features with a normal fetus, it has no prospect of any life outside of the host twin. Moreover, it poses clear threats to the life of the host twin on whom its own life depends.

Confessions of an Armed Robbery Gang....Robbery Has Been Sustaining Us

Three blood brothers, recently in Lagos, made startling revelations when they confessed that they earn their livelihood through armed robbery. In fact, the eldest of the brothers confessed that they used their younger brother to get vital information on their victims.

Their robbery exploits were blown open recently after members of Lagos State neighborhood watch arrested them in Otto-Awori Local Development Council. The three brothers identified as Kabiru Sesan,25, Toheed Sesan, 23, and Femi Sesan, 19, were alleged to have robbed one Mr. Chude at gun point who reportedly just arrived the country from a trip overseas.

One locally-made pistol was said to have been recovered from the suspects while they were sharing their loot in an uncompleted building at Etigbi Community in the area. Sources said the suspects got information about the arrival of Mr Chude through his female house help (name withheld) who happened to be the girlfriend to one of the suspects, Femi.

Their eldest brother, kabiru boldly told Crime Guard when he was cornered at the office of the vigilante group that robbery has kept food on their table since the death of their parents. He also confessed that they were the brains behind the incessant robbery attacks within Etigbi community stating that he asked his younger brother to go into a relationship with their victim’s house help because they knew he is based in United States of America and normally come back with a lot of money.

The younger brother, Femi, however told Crime Guard that he did not know that his brothers had evil intention when they asked him to go into relationship with the housemaid. According to him,”I was surprised when
my brothers told me to go into that relationship with the maid, and I never had the knowledge that my brothers were armed robbers.

I was so surprised, even when I asked my brother why? he said that I should just do it. There was a day my brothers told me to get information on when Mr Chude will return back to the country. I was confused but I did as they said. That was all I knew until I got a call from an anonymous person to come to Shibiri round about within the community, on getting there, I was handcuffed by the vigilante group.”

The leader of the vigilante group, Alhaji Saka Owoyami, narrated how they rounded up the three brothers to Crime Guard. “We got a call from an unidentified person who said he heard a gun shot from a flat nearby. We quickly went into action but before we got to the place, they had disappeared after shooting one of the residents.

We started combing the area and ended up fishing them out in an uncompleted building where they were busy sharing their loot. After interrogations, we were shocked to discover that they were blood brothers. They named their younger brother as their source o f information. We swiftly went into action and arrested him and after interrogation, we handed them over to the police at Hausa-Ihemba division for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The commissioner disclosed that over 300 kidnappers and robbers had either been arrested or killed in the state since March.

Nigeria Worst Country to be Born In

231112N.E.-I.-U.jpg - 231112N.E.-I.-U.jpg
The advanced world conducts all manners of research, most times to confirm a pre-determined belief or mindset. Worse still, there are hardly global monitors to validate either the process or the outcome of such researches. One of such researches has been conducted with Nigeria as one of the countries focused on. And the result, expectedly, is a damning verdict on Nigeria.  The country is known for many things, some good and admittedly, some bad. In recent times, there have been a number of research reports completed by international organisations and the results have not been favourable to Nigeria.
In October 2012, the African Insurance Organisation ranked Nigeria as the “Kidnap-for-Ransom Capital of the World,” accounting for 25 per cent of global kidnappings. Somalia, which had been in the business of sea piracy and kidnappings long before Nigeria joined the 'league', has long been overtaken by Nigeria according to the rating.  In June 2012, the Global Peace Index ranked Nigeria as the sixth most dangerous African country to live in.
Each time such results are released, it is usually followed by debates on various online platforms with many questioning the authenticity of the results.
Yesterday, the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a sister company of The Economist magazine, released results of its 2013 Where-to-be-born Index. This time, Nigeria is ranked as No. 80 out of the 80 countries assessed,  making it the worst country to be born in among the countries analysed. Put differently, Nigeria is the least or even the last place the sampled respondents would want to be born.
In the “Where-To-Be-Born Index” 2013, Nigeria has the lowest score of 4.74 points, placing her at the 80th position.  The index ranks Switzerland as the best country to be born in with 8.22 points. The United States and Germany tie in the 16th position with 7.38 points.
Despite their strong economies, none of the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) scores impressively. Among the African countries on the list, South Africa, which was ranked 53 on the list, comes first with 5.89 points followed by Algeria in the 54th position and with 5.86 points.
Nigeria is the worst place for a baby to enter the world in 2013, says the survey.
According to the EIU, the research “earnestly attempts to measure which country will provide the best opportunities for a healthy, safe and prosperous life in the years ahead”.
Its quality-of-life index links the results of subjective life-satisfaction surveys—how happy people say they are—to objective determinants of the quality of life across countries. Being rich helps more than anything else, but it is not all that counts; things like crime, trust in public institutions and the health of family life matter too.
In all, the index takes 11 statistically significant indicators into account. They are a mixed bunch: some are fixed factors, such as geography; others change only very slowly over time (demography, many social and cultural characteristics); and some factors depend on policies and the state of the world economy. All things considered, the socio-economic condition of a country helps to determine how satisfied or hopeful a people can be.
While the validity of the research may be a subject of intense debate among stakeholders, many believe they should serve as wake-up calls for the nation's leaders. Those who so believe argue that while the ratings may not be accurate readings of the Nigerian polity, they indeed serve as rough projections of the feelings of the Nigerians

Infidelity!

This woman's husband was said to have begged the man on the bed to employ his wife so they could have money to feed until he could sort out his financial problems. The man accepted after several pleas.

But unfortunately, because her husband no longer has money the woman started disrespecting him and keeping late nights. Acting on a tip off, the husband and his friends caught her live in the act with her boss.

The worst is that she didn't even look for an handsome man to sleep with but one who's "uglier" than her husband.

Since she already has a job, is it right for her to sleep with a man for money?

Ghanaian Stunner:UBS trader gets seven years' jail for $2.3 billion fraud

Former UBS trader Kweko Adoboli arrives at Southwark Crown Court in London, November 20, 2012. The jury in the London trial of former UBS trader Kweku Adoboli, who is blamed for a loss of $2.3 billion, continues to consider its verdicts. REUTERS/Stefan Wermuth

Ghanaian-born Adoboli, 32, a senior trader on the Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) desk at UBS's investment banking arm in London, admitted trading far in excess of authorized risk limits and making fictitious book entries to hide his true positions.
He cried in the dock as his lawyer Charles Sherrard asked for the judge's clemency, describing him as a sensitive, committed, hard-working young man who had already paid a very high price for what he had done.
"The tragedy for you is that you had everything going for you," the judge, Brian Keith, told Adoboli.
"There is a strong streak of the gambler in you ... You were arrogant enough to think that the bank's rules for traders didn't apply to you."
Adoboli, who composed himself for the judge's remarks, was then taken away by police. He will serve half the sentence before being released on probation, and after taking into account the time already spent in custody could be out of prison in about two and a half years.
The prosecution had portrayed him as a reckless gambler who played God with UBS's money in the belief that he had the magic touch, driven by a desire to be a star trader with a huge bonus to match.
His defense was that the bank had turned a blind eye to rule-bending as long as profits rolled in and that others knew what he was doing and did not disapprove.
He had pleaded not guilty to two charges of fraud by abuse of position covering the period from October 2008 to his arrest on September 15, 2011.
The jury returned a unanimous verdict of guilty on the main fraud count, holding him directly responsible for the $2.3 billion loss. It related to his unhedged, multi-billion-dollar trades in the summer of 2011.
During the 10-week trial, the court heard that his risk exposure had peaked at $12 billion on August 8, 2011, while his desk's authorized risk limit was $100 million intra-day and $50 million overnight.
ACQUITTED OF FALSE ACCOUNTING
The jury found him guilty by a majority of 9-1 on the other count of fraud, which related to unhedged, unauthorized trading in the period from October 2008 to May 2011.
To convict Adoboli of fraud, the jury had to be certain that he had intended to expose UBS to the risk of losses beyond what was normal for a trader.
He was acquitted on four counts of false accounting related to the fake entries he admitted making into UBS's computer systems to hide his true positions, for which the jury needed to be certain that he had acted for personal financial gain.
Adoboli had always disputed the prosecution argument that he was driven by a desire for a bigger bonus.
"The amount of money involved was staggering, impacting hugely on the bank but also on their employees, shareholders and investors. This was not a victimless crime," said Andrew Penhale, deputy head of fraud at the Crown Prosecution Service, after the verdict.
Though UBS denies a link between Adoboli's losses and its subsequent decision to axe 10,000 jobs and wind down much of its investment bank, others say it would not have happened without the management changes it brought about.
A swathe of top UBS executives including former Chief Executive Oswald Gruebel, have resigned, been sacked, or sidelined following the scandal.
DENIED AN EMBRACE FOR FATHER
Wearing a suit and tie, Adoboli stood in the glass dock at the back of the courtroom at Southwark Crown Court while the jury delivered their verdicts. His father John, who had travelled to Britain from Ghana to support his son throughout the lengthy trial, was seated directly behind the dock.
Adoboli bowed his head when the foreman of the jury gave the first verdict, which was on the main count of fraud. He was then taken into custody and returned later to hear the five other verdicts. He was not given an opportunity to leave the dock to embrace his father.
Adoboli revealed the losses to his managers in an email on September 14, 2011, and was arrested in the early hours of the following day at UBS offices. His trial started a year later.
UBS shares were down 1.45 percent at 14.29 francs at 1459 GMT, while the European banking sector index was down 1.8 percent.
